The 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe brings some major updates, including impressive fuel economy and modern safety and convenience features. In addition to comfortably hauling anywhere from six to nine passengers, this sturdy SUV can now tow impressive loads of up to 8,600 pounds.

The new Chevrolet Tahoe is available as LS, LT, and LTZ trim models. The entry-level model comes with everything drivers need for a safe, comfortable trip. It also delivers impressive high-tech perks. The standard rearview camera makes backing up a snap. Bluetooth connectivity means drivers can make hands-free calls. A new fold-flat third-row seat makes it easy to increase the cargo hold in mere moments.

In addition to conveniences, the Chevrolet Tahoe is big on safety. Advanced systems like forward collision alert and lane-departure warning are available to boost driver vigilance and passenger safety.

The Tahoe’s 5.3-liter V8 engine delivers 355 horsepower – making it easy to pass slower vehicles or merge into highway traffic. Drivers can choose between two- and four-wheel drive to maximize performance. On the road, this SUV supplies a quiet, comfortable ride. Drivers love its composed handling and off-road capabilities.

2007 – 2014

3rd Gen Tahoe

When the third-generation Chevrolet Tahoe arrived, it was praised for its high-quality interior, impressive build, and substantial drivability. Used Tahoe shoppers can choose between three trim models: the LS, LT, and LTZ.

It was initially available with one of two engines: a 295-horsepower 4.8-liter V8 and a 320-horsepower 5.3-liter V8. Both were paired with a four-speed automatic transmission that delivered a smooth, comfortable ride. Models with the 4.8-liter engine were equipped with rear-wheel drive. During 2009, the Tahoe was available with a 6.2-liter V8 engine that boosted output to 395 horses. This was also the year that introduced the six-speed automatic transmission, which was paired with both the 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter V8 engines. Beginning in 2010, the Tahoe was only available with a 5.3-liter engine and a six-speed automatic transmission. Used Chevrolet Tahoe shoppers can decide on rear- or four-wheel drive.

Available features changed throughout this generation, but the Chevrolet Tahoe remained generally well stocked. Typical conveniences included dual-zone climate control to keep passengers cozy in any weather and stability control to boost on-road safety. Some model years divided the LT trim models into LT1, LT2, and LT3 sub-trims, each of which offered greater luxury. Upscale features like heated leather seats and remote vehicle start were available to maximize comfort and convenience.

2000 – 2006

2nd Gen Tahoe

These models were slightly smaller than the generation that came after them, but still represented one of the best full-size SUVs on the market. Used Tahoe shoppers can choose between two V8 engines – a 4.8-liter that made 285 horses and a 5.3-liter that boosted output to 285 horses. All models could be had with either two- or four-wheel drive. On the road, the second-generation Tahoe impressed with its strong engines and around-town maneuverability. Beginning in 2003, the Tahoe was available with stability control.

1995 1999

1st Gen Tahoe

The original Chevrolet Tahoe could seat up to six passengers in pure comfort. Drivers could also fill these SUVs with plenty of cargo. The standard 5.7-liter V8 engine offered substantial power, with 255 horses.

This was the only generation that offered both two- and four-door Tahoe models. With the two-door style, a turbodiesel V8 engine was available, generating 180 horses.
