When looking for a mid-size truck to take you from work to play, look no further than the 2026 Chevy Colorado. Though no major changes are expected this year, it continues to be a strong and comfortable truck that gives you an enjoyable driving experience.
We don’t expect any major changes in 2026 since the Colorado had a major overhaul in 2023. This fourth model in the third generation of Colorado will likely run through 2030 before it gets any major overhauls. New color and wheel options seem to be the main changes this year. There will also be a new package available, the Bronze Accent Package.
Available trims for 2026 will be: WT (Work Truck), LT, Trail Boss, Z71, ZR2, and ZR2 Bison. Starting prices will be $34,495 to $62,795, depending on which trim and features you choose.
The reliable powertrain continues this year. All trims are equipped with a 310-horsepower turbocharged 2.7L four-cylinder engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Four-wheel drive is standard in all trims except the WT and the LT, where it is optional. The Chevy Colorado has a max tow limit of 7,700 pounds. Though the ZR2 maxes out at 6,000.
Fuel economy should be similar to last year’s model. rear-wheel drive getting 18 mpg city and 23 mpg highway. Four-wheel drive drops to 17 mpg city and 21 mpg highway. And the off-roading ZR2 Bison will get 16 mpg for both.
Off-road capability is added to the ZR2 with its power locking front and rear differentials. Moreso, the ZR2 Bison has 12.2-inch ground clearance and whopping 35-inch tires. To smooth the ride, it also has hydraulic front and rear bump stops.
The Colorado is only available in a crew cab with a five-foot bed. It will seat up to five with two bucket seats in front and a bench seat in the back. For extra storage, there is a lockable storage container in the tailgate.
The digital gauge is 11 inches, while the infotainment touchscreen is 11.3 inches. Both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are compatible. A six-speaker stereo is standard, or a seven-speaker Bose stereo is available.
To make your life a little easier while driving, you’ll get these driver-assist features:
Standard safety features include automated emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist. Optional safety features are adaptive cruise control and a 360-degree camera system.
