These extra-small crossover SUVs deliver everything you want in a daily drive, from a smart cabin to a peppy performance. With four trim models available — the LS, LT, Activ, and RS — you can choose the level of features that matches up with your budget.

The base LS delivers features you’ll appreciate, including a smartphone-friendly infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Forward collision mitigation and lane keeping assistance are also standard. The LT adds to the standard lineup with more utility, like roof rails and LED foglights. If you’re looking for a sportier drive, the Activ adds underbody skid plate and a tow hitch receiver. This model is also a little more luxurious, with faux leather upholstery and a two-tone roof. Finally, the top-trim RS adds to the Activ lineup with flashy wheels and red interior accents.

The Trailblazer is an excellent daily cruiser, supplying you with enough power to keep up with traffic and get around with confidence. As a subcompact crossover, it’s also a thrifty option, earning up to 31 mpg combined (29 city/33 highway).

There are two powertrains available for the Trailblazer:

• Standard turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine (137 horsepower, 162 lb-ft of torque) + continuously variable transmission (CVT)
• Optional turbo 1.3L three-cylinder engine (155 hp, 174 lb-ft) + nine-speed automatic

The LS and LT come with the standard engine, but the upgraded powertrain is available as an option. These trims also come standard with front-wheel drive, and they’re only available with all-wheel drive when you choose the upgraded 1.3-liter engine.

The Activ and RS trim models come with the turbocharged 1.3-liter engine and nine-speed automatic transmission. However, they’re available with either front- or all-wheel drive.

Available colors vary slightly according to which trim model you select. The standard list of colors, available for the LS and LT, includes:

• Sterling Gray Metallic
• Iridescent Pearl Tricot

The Activ features a Summit White roof and strikes Crimson Metallic and Mahogany Red Metallic from the list of options. Unlike the LS and LT, the Activ offers Nitro Yellow Metallic as an option.

The RS comes with a Mosaic Black Metallic roof. It also offers Nitro Yellow Metallic as an option. The only color it strikes from the original list of options is Vivid Orange Metallic.
