Can’t decide whether you should buy the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ or the High Country? Both Silverado 1500 trucks are on the high end of the trim model hierarchy, which means both are stocked with luxury features. It also means that both trucks come standard with impressive V8 power. But knowing what these models have in common won’t help you choose between them. Let’s take a look at how they’re different.

Configuration

When it comes to cabin and bed size configurations, there aren’t any differences between the LTZ and High Country. Rear-wheel-drive models come standard with the short, 5-foot-8-inch bed. With four-wheel drive, these Silverado 1500 trucks are also available with the standard, 6.5-foot bed. All LTZ and High Country models come standard with the spacious crew cabin.

Power and Performance

Chevy Silverado Towing

Here, too, the 2021 Silverado 1500 LTZ and High Country have everything in common. These upscale trucks are big on power, with a 355-horsepower V8. However, if you require even more power, you can always step up to the bigger, 420-horsepower V8 engine. Also available is a turbo diesel inline-6 that spits out 460 pound-feet of torque, great for towing, and helps deliver up to 27 mpg combined.

Both:

  • 5.3L EcoTec3 V8 engine (355 hp, 383 lb.-ft.)
  • Eight-speed automatic transmission
  • Standard rear-wheel drive, optional four-wheel drive
  • Trailering Package
  • Optional 3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel I6 engine (277 hp, 460 lb.-ft.)
  • Optional 6.2L V8 engine (420 hp, 460 lb.-ft.)
  • Optional 10-speed automatic transmission

Exterior Features

Chevy silverado exterior

Outside, you’ll notice quite a few differences between the LTZ and High Country. Although both have 20-inch wheels, each model offers a unique design. The LTZ is very flashy, with chrome bumpers and mirror caps. The High Country, meanwhile, has a modern, refined look, with body-color bumpers and LED head- and tail lights.

On the other hand, these trucks also have a lot of exterior features in common. For example, both look sharp with daytime running lamps and chrome door handles. Helpful utility features, like cargo bed LED lighting and heated power mirrors, add a layer of convenience to your daily drive.

Both:

  • Cargo bed LED lightning
  • Cargo tie-downs
  • Chrome door handles
  • Daytime running lamps
  • Deep-tinted glass
  • Heated, power, driver-side auto-dimming, power-folding outside mirrors
  • LED fog lamps
  • Power Up and Down Tailgate

LTZ:

  • 20-inch Polished finish wheels
  • Black recovery hooks
  • Chrome front and rear bumpers
  • Chrome mirror caps
  • LED reflector headlamps and LED tail lamps

High Country:

  • 20-inch painted aluminum machined face wheels with Light Argent pockets
  • Body-color front and rear bumpers
  • Chevytech spray-on bedliner
  • Chrome recovery hooks
  • High-intensity LED reflector headlamps and LED tail lamps
  • Painted mirror caps

Interior Features

Silverado Interior

Inside, the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ and High Country are very luxurious. Both models’ crew cabins are big on space, with comfortable seating for up to five passengers. Upscale features like leather upholstery and heated front seats, are standard on both.

However, as the Silverado 1500’s top trim model, the High Country actually gives you a longer list of tech features. For example, it comes standard with the upgraded infotainment system, which includes navigation and an HD touch screen. The High Country also treats you to Bose premium audio.

Both:

  • 10-way power front seats
  • 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot capable
  • Carpeted floor covering
  • Chevrolet Connected Access capable
  • Driver memory
  • Dual-zone automatic climate control
  • Heated front seats
  • Hitch Guidance with Hitch View
  • Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert
  • Leather-wrapped steering wheel
  • Remote Start
  • Perforated leather seating

LTZ:

  • 4.2-inch color Driver Information Center
  • Six-speaker audio system
  • Infotainment 3 Plus System with 8-inch HD color touch screen
  • Rubberized-vinyl floor mats

High Country:

  • 8-inch digital Driver Information Center
  • Seven-speaker Bose Premium Sound System with Richbass woofer
  • Infotainment 3 System Premium System with Navigation and 8-inch HD color touch screen
  • Wireless smartphone charging pad

Choose Your Silverado 1500

The 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ and High Country do have a lot in common, including powerful engine options and body style configurations. However, the LTZ delivers lots of luxury without the premium price tag of the High Country, making it a great choice for anyone who wants lots of features at a lower rate. And the fully loaded High Country is the better option for drivers who want all the bells and whistles.
