Used Chevrolet Sonic

2012 – 2015

1st Gen Sonic

The used Chevrolet Sonic lets you choose between sedan and hatchback models. This subcompact is available as four trim models: the entry-level LS, mid-grade LT, upscale LTZ, and sporty RS. All models are well stocked with convenience features. Drivers can make hands-free calls using Bluetooth phone connectivity. It’s easy to plug-and-play devices using the Sonic’s auxiliary audio jack. New for 2015 is a 4G LTE Wi-Fi connection, allowing passengers to connect up to seven devices.

Upper trim models deliver additional luxuries. Heated front seats keep passengers cozy during winter weather. The MyLink system treats users to a wealth of infotainment apps via a color touchscreen. Bluetooth audio connectivity lets you stream music wirelessly. The RS also comes with performance-enhancing hardware, including four-wheel disc brakes and a sport-tuned suspension.

The used Chevrolet Sonic cabin is constructed using quality materials, enhancing comfort and style. Modern ergonomics create a highly functional interior. Its motorcycle-style gauge sets a modern tone. The analog tachometer and digital speedometer are easy to take in at a glance. It’s easy to find the perfect position behind the wheel, and even tall passengers will be comfortable in the front seats. The second row also offers generous head- and legroom. Cargo capacity is ample, with more than enough space for items like shopping bags and weekend luggage.

The standard engine is a 1.8-liter four-cylinder that produces 138 horsepower and 125 pound-feet of torque. With it, it’s easy to merge onto highways and pass slower vehicles. The RS comes standard with a 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that increases torque output to 148 pound-feet. This engine is also an option for LT and LTZ models. Although both engines produce the same amount of horsepower, the turbocharged option feels significantly quicker than competitors. If you choose a turbocharged model you can expect better fuel economy.

Both engines are paired with standard manual transmissions. The base engine gets a five-speed manual and the turbocharged engine comes with a six-speed manual. Six-speed automatic transmissions are optional for both engines.
