If you’re as ready for the 2023 Chevy Colorado as we are, good news! The latest version of this midsize truck has finally arrived. In addition to its best-in-class towing capabilities, the new Colorado outdoes competitors with its sleek new interior design and rugged redesigned body.

Has the 2023 Chevy Colorado been redesigned?

Yes! For 2023, Colorado aficionados are getting an all-new midsize truck. That means an updated powertrain, sleek new cabin, and updated body. These new trucks are available with a crew cabin and 5-foot bed only. However, you can still choose between rear- and four-wheel-drive trucks, the latter of which help you maintain precision on loose, off-road surfaces.

Why choose the 2023 Chevy Colorado?

Chevy’s midsize truck has long been the best choice in the segment, with strong engine options, a roomy, comfortable cabin, and best-in-class towing capabilities. And this redesigned Colorado has only gotten better, thanks to its new updates.

This new Colorado offers five trim models: WT, LT, Trail Boss, Z71, and ZR2. Most will look familiar to die-hard Chevy fans. The base WT or Work Truck gives you all the basics, and LT adds a longer list of modern conveniences. The Trail Boss, Z71, and ZR2 add both luxury features and performance upgrades.

How much can the 2023 Chevy Colorado tow?

The Colorado’s towing capabilities vary according to which version of its turbocharged engine you select. While every Colorado comes with the same 2.7-liter inline four-cylinder engine, output varies according to trim model:

  • WT, LT: turbocharged 2.7-liter inline four-cylinder engine (237 hp, 259 lb-ft of torque)
  • Trail Boss, Z71 (optional for the WT, LT): turbo 2.7L inline four-cylinder engine (301 hp, 390 lb-ft)
  • ZR2: high-output turbo 2.7L inline four-cylinder engine (310 hp, 430 lb-ft)
  • Eight-speed automatic transmission
  • Five available drive modes (Off-Road, Terrain, Baja, Tow/Haul, Normal)

As usual, the Colorado will offer the heftiest tow ratings in the segment, beating other midsize trucks with its ability to transport a trailer weighing up to 7,700 pounds. To achieve this figure, you’ll need the 301-horsepower version of the turbocharged engine. Luckily, it’s widely available across the lineup.

With the standard, 237-horsepower version of the engine, the Colorado tows up to 3,500 pounds. The ZR2 can tow up to 6,000 pounds.

What colors does the 2023 Chevy Colorado come in?

This rugged new truck is available in eight colors that range from bold to neutral:

  • Radiant Red Tintcoat
  • Nitro Yellow Metallic
  • Summit White
  • Glacier Blue Metallic
  • Black
  • Harvest Bronze Metallic
