Used 2015 Chevy Tahoe – Trim Levels and Options

The New Chevy Tahoe comes in three trims: LS, LT and LTZ. The standard seating is made for eight passengers but there is also an optional nine-passenger seating in the LS.

The standard features on the base LS include tri-zone automatic climate control, rear parking sensors, power front seats, power-adjustable manual-folding mirrors, 18-inch alloy wheels and remote engine start. Other standard features include a 60/40 split-fold second row bench, a rearview camera, OnStar, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, among others.

If you are looking for a nine passenger option, you should get the LS. This is the only model that comes with the optional front bench. All Chevy trims feature a two-inch receiver and a Max Trailering level that includes air suspension with loaded capacity, a trailer-brake controller, and specific gearing.

The LT comes with slightly more advanced features than those available for the base trim. The most noticeable feature is the LS Driver Alert package that adds a power liftgate, text-to-voice capability for MAP enabled phones, an eight-way power front passenger seat and other features.

The LTZ adds to the LT’s standard package with features like xenon headlights, an upgraded ten-speaker Bose audio system, adaptive magnetic shock absorbers and 20-inch alloy wheels.

Powertrains and Performance

The Tahoe is powered by a 5.3-liter V8 engine that outputs 355 hp and 383 lb-ft. of torque. Both 2WD and 4WD models are fitted with a six-speed automatic transmission. Moreover, 4WD models come with a two-speed transfer case with low-range gearing. The LT and LTZ come with lock rear differential as standard while the LS has it as optional.

When properly equipped, the 2WD Tahoe can tow 8,600 pounds while the 4WD can tow a maximum of 8,400 pounds. The car’s acceleration is also higher than the average in the SUV class, topping 60 mph in just 7.3 seconds. Moreover, the EPA’s estimated fuel economy tops at 18 mpg combined for all drivelines, which is higher than that of most full-size SUVs.

Safety

The Used 2015 Tahoe comes with standard safety equipment such as side curtain airbags, traction control, antilock disc brakes, among others. OnStar, which includes remote door unlocking, on-demand roadside assistance, and stolen vehicle assistance, also comes standard in the vehicle.

Interior Design

The Used 2015 Tahoe’s interior features higher quality materials, compared to the previous generation SUV. The gauge cluster has white and black graphics that are easy to read. Moreover, the central color infotainment display comes with optional configurable graphics and is easy to navigate.

The front seats are supportive and will be comfortable for most shoppers. However, the LS Tahoe does not have a telescoping steering wheel and it will be harder for some people to get the ideal driving position.

Driving Impressions

One of the benefits of the Tahoe is its standard V8 power. In the 2015 model, the 5.3-liter V8 engine is more powerful, better refined and smooth. The vehicle comes with the standard six-speed automatic transmission that gives it faster acceleration and enables quiet cruising.

The standard adaptive suspension on the LTZ makes it feel secure when going around turns. However, you may want to avoid the optional 22-inch wheels as they adversely affect ride quality because of their mass.
